MedMal payments rose with cost of health care

Dartmouth Prof. Amitabh Chandra, with Shantanu Nundy and Seth A. Seabury have again published results of quantitative study correlating growth of medical malpractice payments to the growth in the cost of health care. They criticize "preoccupation with data on judgments, extreme awards, or specific specialities (that) results in an incomplete understanding of the growth of physician malpractice payments."
